Tom Cruise… The side you don’t know

For many, “Tom Cruise” invokes ideas concerning his faith or marriages. People care because he’s famous. But why is he famous? What makes him great at his craft? There’s a side of Tom you don’t know if you haven’t worked with him.

I worked with Tom on a movie called “The Firm.” He led a cast that included Gene Hackman, Hal Holbrook and Holly Hunter, and I was special effects coordinator. We spoke often and I got to watch him work. What I saw was life-changing. Continue reading →

I read this in the NY Times on Sunday 6th of December – Bono (U2) was getting an interview about Paris and at the end of the article he said the following:

“When you get bleak about things and think, Gosh, is there an end to this? Yeah, there is, it just takes lots of work, lots of time.  I was never a hippie – I’m punk rock, really.  I was never into:  ‘Let’s hold hands, and peace will come just because we’ll dream it into the world’.  No.  Peace is the opposite of dreaming. It’s built slowly and surely through brutal compromises and tiny victories that you don’t even see.  It’s a messy business, bringing peace into the world. But it can be done, I’m sure of that.”

“Reclaiming the Heart of Our Humanity—Working Together For a World of Compassion, Peace, Justice and Sustainability.”

Despite the divisiveness and religious conflict so regularly promoted in the mainstream media, here, some 10,000 members of 50 different religious traditions representing 80 countries joined in the common goals of improving society and promoting peace.

I am so proud to be a member of the Church of Scientology.  I must say I am excited and honored when I read this article and see what we bring to the City of Clearwater and the Tampa Bay Area.  We all see the need to help our fellow man around us and I invite everyone to come in and take a look and see how we can all work together.  Please take a moment and read the article and please come and take a tour – you will love it!

We all have to wake up and really take a look at the fact that labor trafficking is not just happening in other places we don’t live – it is in our own backyard.  We have these underground criminals that are all around us.  Unless we ban together and really make some noise, we will not be able to bring the law down on this criminal activity fast enough.

Let’s take action – if you live in Clearwater or the Tampa Bay area, come and take a look at the New Human Rights building that has just opened in downtown Clearwater by the Church of Scientology.  You can connect with people who are taking action.  Your help is needed too.  It is a gigantic job to get done and we all need to ban together!!!
